New Layer Dialog in Photoshop
CMD SHIFT N creates a new layer with a dialog box.
I find this handy for 2 reasons.
- The ability to name a layer at creation without having to “double-click” to edit the layer name afterwards.
- When doing image retouching I like to use a “non-destructive” dodge & burn layer on a layer filled with 50% gray and set to an Overlay blending mode. When selecting this blending mode in New Layer dialog box, it enables a checkbox and adds 50% gray to that layer automatically.
